THE KRISHNA KEY

Blurb of the book :

Five thousand years ago, there came to earth a magical being called Krishna, who brought about innumerable miracles for the good of mankind. Humanity despaired of its fate if the Blue God were to die but was reassured that he would return in a fresh avatar when needed in the eventual dark age- the Kaliyug. In modern times, a poor little rich boy grows up believing that he is that final avatar and kills everybody who comes in his way to reach his destiny in the same manner by which Krishna (The 8th avatar of Vishnu) was killed by a hunter 5000 years ago.

The main aim of this avatar is to follow the order of his master whom he used to call ‘mataji’ and find four seals followed by a ceramic basement plate which manifests the existence of Krishna.

My Review:

The Krishna Key, Ashwini Sanghi’s third novel, is based on ancient secrets of Vedic age and the Mahabharata. There are several characters in this novel still I would say the main protagonist is ‘Ravi Mohan Saini’, who is a professor of History. The story starts with the thrilling murder of Saini's best friend Anil Varshney by an anonymous killer and the police found Saini culpable. To prove his innocence he started to find the reason of his friend’s death.

The facts that the author had written or co-related shows years of research on these areas and for this I salute to the author. The hideous things about Taj Mahal, Somnath temple, the holy numbers like 108 and 786 made me feel like I don’t know much about our Indian history.

Thumbs Up:
The best part of this novel which I adore the most is the division of each chapter into two parts, 1st first part is the Mahabharata story and the 2nd part is a thriller cum fiction story. The anagrams like “Tarak Vakil to Kalki Avatar”, “SirKhan to Krishna” that the writer had composed is really commendable. The end of each chapter did act as a page turner.

Thumbs Down:
The exaggerate description about the ship called Radha. At the end of the novel the four seals and the ceramic plate have lost their significance and the climax couldn't hold the pace.

I will give this thriller cum fiction novel 4 out of 5 stars. :) :)
